Showpiece cocktails
Drinks with real presence — elaborate garnish, distinctive glassware, or a build people watch you make.
A showpiece drink is doing a job beyond tasting good: it is the one you make when the making is part of the evening. That usually means a garnish with more than one component, a glass nobody owns by accident, or a technique that is visibly happening.
Worth saying plainly: none of this improves the drink. It changes the occasion, which is a legitimate thing to want — and it is a different thing from the theatrical effects covered in the craft section, several of which are genuinely not worth doing at home.
Brandy Alexander
Cognac, dark crème de cacao and cream, shaken smooth — a dessert cocktail dusted with nutmeg.
Between the Sheets
Cognac, white rum, triple sec and lemon in close-to-equal parts — a strong, citrus-bright Sidecar relative.
Three Dots and a Dash
Dark and gold rum shaken with citrus, falernum and allspice dram — a spiced tiki classic named for its Morse-code cherry garnish.
How this list is built
Recipes with two or more authored garnish components, or served in a distinctive glass (tiki mug, hurricane, coupe or flute) with at least one garnish — restricted to recipes above easy difficulty.
Nothing on this page is hand-picked or sponsored — the list comes straight from the recipe data, so it stays correct as the catalogue grows. Lists only exist once enough real recipes match; that is why some categories you might expect aren't here yet.
