These terms cover the basics of using CocktailHQ. They're written in plain language on purpose — we're an early-stage product, not a law firm, and we'd rather be clear than clever.
Content is provided as-is
Everything on CocktailHQ — recipes, ingredient information, taste profiles, calculators — is provided for general, informational purposes. We do our best to keep it accurate and useful, but we can't guarantee it's complete, current, or error-free at every moment, especially while the product is still actively being built.
Recipes and figures are estimates
Quantities, alcohol content, and nutrition figures shown on the site are estimates based on typical measures and standard recipe proportions. They're a helpful guide rather than a guarantee. What you make, how strong you make it, and how much you drink is your call — and your responsibility. See our responsible drinking page for more on that.
Recipes may suggest equipment or ingredient substitutions. Substituting is generally safe cooking practice, but you're responsible for using your own judgement around any equipment, technique, or ingredient you're not familiar with.
Not professional advice
Nothing on CocktailHQ is medical, nutritional, health, or legal advice, and nothing here is a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your circumstances. Ingredient, allergen, alcohol-content and nutrition information is general and may be incomplete or out of date; if a decision matters to your health or safety, check with someone qualified rather than relying on this site.
Alcohol, age, and your responsibility
CocktailHQ contains information about alcoholic drinks and is intended for people who are of legal drinking age where they live. That age, and the rules around buying, making and serving alcohol, vary by country — it is your responsibility to know and follow the law that applies to you. Nothing on this site is an encouragement to drink, or to drink more; alcohol-free versions of most drinks are covered in the same depth as the alcoholic ones. Please read our responsible drinking page, and don't use the site to serve anyone under the legal drinking age.

CocktailHQ may link out to third-party websites, including retailers and, in future, affiliate partners for things like glassware or cocktail kits. The text, design, and original content on CocktailHQ belong to CocktailHQ unless stated otherwise. You're welcome to link to our pages; please don't republish our content wholesale without asking first.
Availability and liability
We aim to keep CocktailHQ available and working, but we can't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, move, or remove any part of it at any time. To the fullest extent the law where you live allows, CocktailHQ is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site, from relying on information you found here, or from anything you make or do as a result.
