Iced Tea
Iced tea is black or green tea brewed and then chilled, offering a light tannic bitterness and mild astringency that pairs well with citrus and spirits. Unsweetened versions give more control over a cocktail's overall sweetness than pre-sweetened bottled tea. It is a common lengthener in tall, refreshing cocktails.
Common uses
- lengthens tall built cocktails
- base for tea-spiked punches
Buying & storage
A few days: Brewed tea turns bitter and flat within a day or so, and the tannin that made it useful goes with it.
Storage: refrigerate and use within 2-3 days for the freshest flavour
