Built in the glass
Long alcohol-free drinks
Highball-style alcohol-free drinks built straight in the glass — the easiest category to make well.
A long drink is built in the glass, over ice, with no shaking and usually no more than three ingredients. It is the most forgiving format there is and the one that scales best for a crowd, which is why most alcohol-free drinking should probably start here.
The whole technique is ice discipline: a full glass of ice melts more slowly than a half-full one, so a properly-filled long drink stays cold and stays tasting the way it should.
Ginger Lime Fizz
Ginger beer, lime and soda over ice with mint — a spicy, fizzy CocktailHQ original.
Virgin Sunrise
Orange juice and grenadine, layered so the colour bleeds from red to gold — the Tequila Sunrise without the tequila.
Virgin Sea Breeze
Cranberry and grapefruit over ice — the Sea Breeze's dry, tart half, which was always the interesting part.
How this list is built
Recipes whose authored preparation method is built, served in a 250ml glass or larger.
Nothing on this page is hand-picked or sponsored — the list comes straight from the recipe data, so it stays correct as the catalogue grows. Lists only exist once enough real recipes match; that is why some categories you might expect aren't here yet.
